Research undertaken by Opinium, on behalf of the British Kebab Awards, has revealed some interesting political trends amongst kebab lovers.
Kebab industry finalists from across the UK have a chance to win one of 18 prestigious awards at the British Kebab Awards ceremony which takes place at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge Hotel, on Tuesday 26 October.
Some highlights from recent polling have given surprising insight – including:
- Labour voters eat more kebabs than Conservative voters – 45% of Labour voters have had a kebab in the last year compared to 36% of Conservative voters. 29% of Conservative voters have never eaten a kebab, compared to 23% of Labour voters.
- Voters would rather eat a kebab with Johnson, although they would trust Starmer more to make it – 24% say they would prefer to have a kebab with Johnson, 19% Starmer. 16% say they would trust Johnson more to make it, 22% Starmer. However, in both cases the majority say “neither” (52% and 55% retrospectively).
- Britain’s favourite kebab is a Lamb Doner kebab – 48% say Doner is their favourite, 46% say lamb is their favourite. However, women prefer chicken to lamb, 42% to 40%. Despite its reputation as a ‘post lash’ meal, people are actually most likely to eat a kebab between 6pm and 9pm. Only 5% say they are more likely to eat one between midnight and 3am.
